community-based mental health training

Mental Health is one of the top-priority areas for action globally. It has now found place as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is accepted now that in order to improve health status of any community we must address the mental health needs also. However the interventions in Mental healthcare are not as simple as in general health care. TRU has endeavored to apply basic principles of  community Healthcare to resolve issues in mental healthcare of the people. We have trained a number of young men and women who are part of the same or similar community. Their training is to take care of the patients with mental conditions in the community.

We hope that civil society and health groups across the country can take up similar community-based mental health work. Towards this, we have developed five mental health training videos that outline our work, and are posted below.
