"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]" - M. K. Gandhi
Since the inception of the Trust for Reaching the Unreached (TRU) or Lokswasthya Mandal in August of 1987, the organization has tried to live up to its name. The thought behind TRU was to reach the remotest villages, where no services had reached before. We had no money in the beginning, only knowledge and experience. Core workers of TRU had their roots in the Bhoodan and Sarvodaya movements. Dr Ashvin Patel and Nimitta bhatt had spent their valuable life years in serving the rural trible populations of Arunachal Pradesh, Bharuch district and Vadodara. Having participated in the mainstream movements for people's development, they have concentrated on health interventions through TRU in the tribal areas of Vadodara and Panch Mahals district.
